My name is Meredith McKnight, and I am an intern at Hope Family Counseling. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in social work through Dordt University.
I believe therapy is most effective when affirmation and accountability are both driving principles of care. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we are responsible for how we respond to it. I’m passionate about supporting survivors of trauma and sexual assault, and those navigating insecurity, relationship struggles, and the weight of people-pleasing and perfectionism. I especially love working with girls in high school, college, and young adulthood, but all are welcome!
Using tools from CBT, IFS, and motivational interviewing, we will holistically process your past and work towards healing - helping you go from a place of merely surviving to thriving. My style is compassionate, candid, collaborative, and empowering - with a touch of lightheartedness to keep things fun even when the work gets deep:,)
My Christian faith is something that is really important to me, so I am always open to offering counseling from that perspective for those who are interested.
I look forward to working with you!
