Hello! My name is Jared Wells and I’m a Clinical Mental Health Intern and graduate student at Grand View University. I am passionate about helping people of all ages – from young children to older adults – navigate life’s challenging seasons and stages.
My approach to counseling is rooted in person-centered care, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. I’ll walk with you by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard, valued and supported as you explore your own strengths and work toward meaningful change.
I believe that faith and spirituality can be a deeply important part of a person’s life and I welcome the opportunity to incorporate religion and spirituality into our work together. We’ll do that on your own terms, in whatever way feels right for you, if at all.
I have a deep personal connection to the foster care community as an adoptive and foster parent. I know firsthand the joys, complexities, and heartaches that come with this journey. My experiences have given me a unique perspective and passion for supporting foster and adoptive families, as well as children and adults who have experienced trauma at any point in their lives.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, life transitions, grief, or simply looking for a space to process and grow, I would be honored to be part of your journey. I look forward to meeting you right where you are!
*Jared offers services in Urbandale, Marshalltown, & via telehealth*
